Centre Manager, Piccolo Park Botany
My name is Zoe McBride and I have been at Piccolo Park Early Learning Centre in Botany since early 2016 shortly after it opened. I began my journey with Piccolo Park as a teacher, then team leader and now as the centre manager.
I am originally from the South Island of New Zealand, where I grew up in a small town in Central Otago. My passion for teaching began at a young age when I would pretend to be a teacher for my brothers, planning lessons and even providing them with homework! Fortunately I undertook a more formal education to improve my teaching abilities, completing my Bachelors Degree at The University of Otago. I am now undertaking further study with Massey University in the field of Specialist Teaching with a focus on learners with autism.
The early years is such an important time for nurturing young children’s learning and development and at Piccolo Park and we do this by encouraging a respectful, and play based approach that promotes the skills, knowledge and dispositions for lifelong learning, empowering all children to reach their full potential!
