November 2020 marked the seventh anniversary of the opening of our Mount Wellington Piccolo Park early learning centre… that’s seven years of learning, playing, growing and creating together!
Every year we celebrate our anniversary in style with a “P” themed celebration day. Pink panther, pea pods, police… that’s just what our teachers dressed up as!
This year the children loved baking “P” themed food with healthy heart pizza, pear cake and pancakes being big hits. We pretended to fish in a pond, made our own pirate ship and painted with pink and purple. The whole day was filled with fun!
We celebrate our achievements over the past 12 months. Looking at our lovely families and children and seeing them grow in our care is surely the most rewarding gift each year. We are privileged and fortunate to be surrounded by such lovely people.
An important part of our annual celebrations is to mark how far we have come since opening. We look back on the first few days, where Narisa and Rukshana started the team off with our little home away from home. Seven years on, we are thriving. We have three amazing centres and one more due to open very soon. Some of our teachers started with us as students, and are now in new Piccolo Park centres as qualified teachers. They share the philosophy that kick-started our little Whare here at 279 Mt Wellington Highway.
With our celebrations done, we look forward to our eighth year and many more exciting adventures ahead. We welcome new families and await further additions to the Piccolo whanau throughout 2021 and the years ahead. With each new family, our hearts grow a little bigger and we can not wait to share in their journeys as they learn, grow, create and explore in our care.
