Centre Manager, Piccolo Park Botany
Kia Ora, I’m Bridget the Centre Manager here at Sylvia Park, I have been a part of the Piccolo Park Family since 2015 and been a part of its growth, as it has been in mine!
I started here as a team leader in the Ngahere room, I had actually taught with Rukshana years before and was so excited to be part of somewhere new! Not long after I joined I became the headteacher and 2IC and then became the centre manager a few years later. In that time I have also gotten married and had a little boy who has joined the Piccolo Park family as well!
I started teaching 18 years ago when I studied for my Early childhood and teaching degree. I loved learning about child development and learning through play. I have worked across the age groups and in a variety of different settings, including nannying and teaching in a private nursery in London for quite a few years. I have traveled the world and know there is nowhere quite like home, teaching here is unlike anywhere else in the world. We are lucky to have an amazing bicultural curriculum and the natural world that surrounds us to teach and learn in.
Although I am not in the classroom quite as much anymore you can still find me enjoying spending time at the playdough table, reading stories, digging in the sandpit and playing when I probably should be in the office… Shhhh don’t tell the boss!
